Answer: Yes there are spare reels for the avocet reel but they sometimes come with a spare reel but the spare is not loaded. -

How does the handle fold on mitchell avocet black edition carp and catfish reel?
Answer: Unscrew the pin on the other side, the more you unscrew it the further the handle will fold down towards the bail arm but beware the pin stays loose. Don't forget to tighten it up again when you go fishing next. Good luck with your fishing. -

Answer: Used for carp fishing. After two months both of them broke down and I binned them. Waste of money. -
