Seeing her completely free, moving towards the future with her whole body, I remember the years she shared with my father, the humiliations and poverty she was subjected to, between the ages of twenty-five and forty-five, while other women experienced life, freedom, journey, self-knowledge, she was torn from her life by masculine violence and misery. It brought about twenty years that were almost destroyed. Seeing this photo made me remember that these twenty years destroyed were not a natural thing, but a result of the actions of external forces independent of it - society, masculinity, my father - so everything could have been different. This time, Edouard Louis tells about his mother in Fights and Transformations of a Woman. She tells the story of a woman who raised the flag of rebellion when she turned forty-five, gradually became free by choosing to live as she wished, and eventually discovered herself. In her narrative between the desire to have a different mother as a child and the experience of seeing her as a free and happy woman despite everything, she does not hesitate to address the cruel systems that govern our lives and the possibility of escape from them - again, without hesitation, again strongly.
