She is sold as a slave to a clergyman along with the Native American John she married, and her struggle for life begins, in which she is dragged to Boston and then to the town of Salem. In the hysterical environment of the puritan community living in this town, she became the first woman accused of witchcraft in the famous Salem Witches case in 1692, and fought hard to achieve freedom.Tituba's stunning life story is revived by Maryse Conde's extraordinarily moving narrative.
