The John Boos Maple Edge Grain Reversible Cutting board is a high-quality product that boasts a sturdy and non-slip design. The board has a groove around the edge for collecting juices and is around 1.5" thick. It should be meticulously cleaned after preparing raw meat on it and must not be soaked in water or allowed to sit in water. The board needs to be oiled with food-grade oil after cleaning. It comes fully sanded and finished, but some reviewers received damaged or unfinished boards, which requires sanding and oiling before use. Overall, the cutting board is a great product, but the packaging needs improvement to prevent damage during shipping.
