I have a 2004 mercury grand marquis, having a hard time finding the correct wire harness. I guess mine has the premium sound system. Will this work?
Answer: Ford (Lincoln/Mercury) used different wiring harness plugs depending on year/ model/ radio type (cd/ cassette/). I assume you want to put in aftermarket radio in 2004 Grand Marquis. This plug (FD16B) fit the harness plug of my 2003 Grand Marquis with OE radio/ single CD. I had to buy FD23 RB reverse connector (male plug) to fit later year Ford radio with cassette and CD. I then soldered like color wires (some wires were not used) to operate power antenna, back light of radio, speakers, etc. Aftermarket radio may use same color codes or may not. I asked local aftermarket car stereo store when there were further questions. -

Answer: Hello, connect color matching wires only. Any wires that don’t match, do not use and tape up separately. Black/White = Factory Amplifier Ground
