    Answer: A low-speed electric grinder is best for sharpening. If you only have a high speed grinder, take off a small amount of material at a time, let the tool cool off for a few seconds, then repeat. Test it on wood on your lathe and go back to the grinder if necessary.
  • Question: I am turning something much larger, a baseball bat to be exact. would this set work in a pinch for that purpose?

    Answer: This set is for turning small items in soft to medium density wood. It would not be ideal for turning a baseball bat unless it's a souvenir type piece made of soft wood. Be extra careful and always wear a full face shield.
