Canson Artist Series Montval Watercolor Paper is a wire-bound pad, 9x12 inches, with 12 sheets of 140lb/300g paper, perfect for watercolor painting. The paper is not cotton but 100% cellulose, which is not suitable for wet-on-wet techniques, but it works well in reworking. The paper has a cold press texture and is acid-free, withstands scraping, erasing, and repeated washes. The pad is side wire bound and has 20 micro-perforated true size sheets. It is suitable for painting on both sides of the paper, and markers seem to work fine on it. There is a perforated edge on the paper that separates the holes from the paper. In general, customers have received the product well, especially for those who are beginners or looking for a good paper for watercolor painting. However, some have had issues with the cover and first couple of pages being water damaged. Some had trouble with the paper not being suitable for wet-on-wet techniques, and one customer found the perforated edge less practical for its original intent.
