i got 800watts, if it have sensor outside the water , what happens if room gets really cold ? Is this heater going to fry my fish ?
Answer: I’m assuming the temp sensor is in the heater element inside my 75 gallon tank. The outside display shows water temperature and what heater is set at. Works great in my tank holds water temperature well. My tank is an add-on and room temp varies from the 50’s to the 80’s and I haven’t had any problems. -

Will this work for a 25 gal hydroponic reservoir? Heavy plastic tote, not a glass aquarium.
Answer: It should, but I have no direct experience doing so. -

is this safe for acrylic tanks?
Answer: Apparently it is. I use it in my 55 gallon half-moon acrylic tank with no ill effects. If it was hot enough to melt or soften the acrylic, well...bye-bye tank inhabitants. -

Is the 200W model really enough for a 55 gallon tank? Most heaters recommend a 300W model for a tank that size.
Answer: I have the 100 watt on my 20 and 29 and it works great, I would say the 200 watt would work for a 55 gallon -

Answer: 200W is good for 40 gallon, just set to the desired temperature
