Answer: Yes, this will do that if properly used. -

I have a 2.5 in bore, should I go with 2.5 or will that barely fit?
Answer: If you have a 2.5-inch bore, then by all means get a flex hone made for 2.5 In. bores. In my experience, with the size range of Brush Research (BR) flex hones, hone is approximately 1/8 In. larger in O.D. than any given 'Bore Size.' But since flex hones being 'oversize' as compared to bore O.D. is actually necessary, as flex hones must fit any given bore size tightly for hone to work, go with 2.5 inches.
