Specifically designed to be used when planting new grass, this starter fertilizer ensures that your lawn grows 70% thicker and 35% quicker, on average, compared to unfed lawns. This product is perfect for starting a new lawn, reseeding an existing one, or installing sod, sprigs, or grass plugs.
It is safe to use on any grass type and covers up to 5,000 square feet with a single 15 lb. bag. Using this fertilizer is easy. Simply apply it using a drop or rotary spreader.
To ensure the best results, use a Scotts® spreader and follow the color-coded map to apply the right amount of fertilizer. Do not apply this product near water or storm drains, or if heavy rain is expected. Also, make sure to keep unused fertilizer away from storm sewers and return it to its original container. Watering your lawn correctly is critical to seeding success, and this product does not require watering in.
However, you should keep the soil consistently moist until seedlings reach 2 inches high.
