Question:
Does it bother anyone else that they are showing the item where the door will never open?
Answer: The entire photo is computer generated. That is not photoshop, it's an area install example. There is no chain or drive on the overhead unit, no supports for the clearly small garage door, no electrical for opener, etc. They just want to depict a usage for the tracks that some people may not think of and yes they do work above the garage door when it is open. -

How many bikes can it hold?
Answer: The picture shows one bike. Unless that's just false advertising to sell the product. -
Question:
It says it’s adjustable.... so would this be able to be installed on a slanted ceiling?
Answer: Without seeing the slope of the ceiling, I would assume you would need to adjust one side so it is longer than the other. I mounted my rack to 2x4s on the two sides. It simplified fastening it to the joists in the garage ceiling. It also served to stiffen the unit. It is a beast. -
Question:
How long should it take to install one rack?
Answer: I think it took me about 90 minutes and my skill level is moderate. Finding your ceiling joists and centering it where you want it is most of the work. I pre-drilled the holes for the lag bolts to ease installation and then just bolts together. Easy. -
Question:
How does it secure to ceiling?
Answer: You must first find the wooden studs in your ceiling (usually 16 to 24 inches apart) and then drill the provided, large screw bolts into the ceiling studs. -
Question:
I believe my ceiling joists are only 2 inches thick, but it wants me to drill 2.4 inches deep. Did anybody else have this problem?
Answer: Your ceiling joists are 3.5 inches thick at the very least if 2x4's were used for the truss construction. They measure 1.5 inches wide, and should be 24 inches spaced on center. I would still measure spacing from the attic if possible. -

Could this hold up outside or would it rust very quickly?
Answer: It’s made of metal so it would rust eventually. -

Can you assemble it so that each of the three base panels, instead of lying end to end, makes up a 3-tier shelf?
Answer: If I understand what you are asking, no. It in and of itself is a one level shelf. Unless you have a smaller dimension separate unit to install either outside or inside this unit, you can only get 1 tier, or level, from it. Hope that helps. -
