Tokonole is a clear gum edge slicker used to smooth and burnish the edges and backs of leather. It dries clear and glossy and can be varnished with a glass varnisher to make it shine. The product is thick and burnishes more consistently than gum trag. Tokonole can be used on veg-tanned leather chest holsters and old belts but make sure to apply it to small sections first to evaluate the results. The product can be applied using a plastic putty knife, fingers, q-tips, or toothpicks. After dyeing the edge, apply the Tokonole to prevent bleeding. Some customers have recommended using water and glycerin instead of Tokonole to produce better results.
